The event for 6th grade students, used interactive discussion as a tool for engagement. An educator from Aktion Watch guided the discussion about various aspects of animal welfare.
In a creative atmosphere, the students were introduced to the ideas of volunteering and the celebration of biodiversity. They worked in groups to analyze newspaper stories about stray animals in Greece and proposed solutions. Finally, they recorded their school yard's biodiversity and realized its importance.
Aktion Watch's involvement provided the students with an educational experience that highlighted both the need for immediate action and contemplation of the larger ecological context. Practical ways for students to get involved in animal welfare were presented, matching their newfound knowledge with actionable steps.
Concluding the session, the students were left with clearer insight into the role they can play in supporting animal welfare.
